We are an independent print shop based in the beautiful spa town of Ilkley, West Yorkshire, and have been printing sewing patterns since 2007. As the owners of Savvy Sewist, we—Robert and Charlotte—combine our expertise in sewing pattern printing with a passion for quality and convenience.
Charlotte is an experienced sewist who has worked with a range of machines over the years, creating everything from bags to britches! We know firsthand how frustrating it can be to assemble A4 printouts, which is why we specialise in A0 sewing pattern printing and large-format pattern printing, making your sewing projects easier and more enjoyable.

With so many printers out there, it’s worth asking what sets us apart. For starters, we have five commercial printers, so there’s always a backup if one goes down. We’re not a pattern designer with a printer on the side, nor are we someone running a side hustle from a bedroom. We’re a dedicated print shop with our own machines, and you’re welcome to collect your order in person if you prefer.
The screen price is the price you pay, it’s always disappointing when you load up your basket to find out at checkout the dreaded VAT and postage is not included! So we’re proud to say there’s no surprises here!
We offer the widest range of paper online, including our 40gsm option—thin yet durable, with excellent transparency for tracing and easy pinning. We also provide high-quality 60gsm and 75gsm papers to suit your needs.
